Geothermal energy Part 2

The course will deal with the use of the geothermal energy in agriculture for heating the greenhouses, making so possible the out-of-season production of vegetables. the use of Geothermal energy: a) requires relatively simple heating installations, b) is competitive for greenhouse heating in many situations, c) has a strategic importance among the other energy sources that are locally available for food production, as Geothermal has a higher capacity factor (a measure of the amount of real time during which a facility is used) than many other power sources, d)is the most environmentally friendly and cost effectiveness resource.

Obiettivo formativo:
the course focuses on the application of the geothermal energy in agriculture, giving details useful for cultivating protected crops with geothermal energy. The course will describe the reason for choosing this resource in agriculture, the several factors influencing the choice of geothermal energy, various kinds of technology solutions and different installations, the economic aspects and the possible operating problems.
