Obiettivo formativo:
the purpose is to establish the main R&D Priorities for Energy and Environment in the International Framework, like: Reduction of Oil Demand as energy source; Electricity Generation caracterized by a less environmental Impact Quality Power & Distributed Generation; Reduction of freight and urban transportation impact Efficiency in urban consumption related to transoprt and buildings consumption and more�. All these objectives are included in a Scenario in which energy and electricity consumptions are going in the Era �Beyond Petroleum� , driving down energy consumption, assuming that our planet can reach further development in the measure of the less energy use. Efficiency in final use and consumptions, less energy production environmental impact, higher energy quality and distributed generation are the goals to join. Many technologies are available on the market, others can be further developed in mid and long term, all togheter lead to a massive employment of alternative energy sources like solar, hydrogen, new nuclear, biofuels. But to reach these objectives a new individual behaviour need to be consolidate. We will find all these objectives, here identified, in the policies and the major challenges in the countries case studies.

Conoscenze richieste:
The lesson will talk on the new main challenges the world is facing in the nearest future, related to the availability of the several kind of energy and power sources. As it is possible to argue in the following the correct response to them for a sustainable development, is largely depending not only by governments policy measures, but also from new individual behaviours inducing manifactures, transport systems, power production systems and plants, electricity grids, urban and territory's settlements to change.
